A Sad Goodbye to our Leader
Our Heritage family says a heartfelt goodbye to our longtime leader, Maria Nolte Field. Our CEO for 15 years and Chief of Operations long before that, Maria passed away on December 1, 2024, at the age of 83.
Born and raised in New Ulm, MN, Maria later moved to Windom after marrying and starting her family. She was very involved in her community there, including championing girl’s athletics, and working with the Windom school board, the National Kidney Foundation, and the Jaycees.
Maria shared this love of engagement with public life with our founder, Wayne Field. They married in 1982, and together they managed Heritage until Wayne's passing in 2009. She continued to lead Heritage of Edina as CEO with an unwavering work ethic and a deep pride in her exceptional staff, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to the residents.Everyone at Heritage knew Maria, and she was always directly involved in our Resident’s lives, whether it was giving them rides to appointments, sewing masks during the worst of the COVID pandemic, or just being there to greet everyone at all our events.
Maria cherished her family and is survived by her three daughters, Jody Fuller, Kathryn Nordberg, and Beth (Scott) Olson along with six beloved grandchildren and seven siblings. A celebration of her life will take place at Erik's Ranch & Retreats, 3420 Heritage Drive, Edina, on Friday, December 20, from 2:00-3:30 PM.
