Our Continuous Care Community was designed to allow all of our
residents to "Age in Place". We understand the importance
of belonging; where people know and understand you, celebrate your
families' accomplishments, and grieve with you over sorrows. Since
1960, our residents have moved in to stay, making Heritage of Edina
their permanent home. Our four building community connected by underground
walkways, provides the ideal setting to experience aging gracefully,
as additional cares and services are available as desired. And,
with so many of our Staff having made Heritage of Edina their home
for more than ten years, your loved one will be surrounded by known
and trusted friends.
Services and Cares
We understand that each resident is an individual with unique needs
and preferences that change over time. That's why when we first
meet with our new residents and families, we learn as much as we
possibly can about all aspects of their lives. We schedule regular
assessments, and in addition, all along the way, all of our staff
from housekeeping to dietary is keeping watch, noticing small changes,
and making adjustments to services and cares, always preserving
our residents' dignity and independence while insuring safety, health
and peace of mind.

Special Care Program- Alzheimer & Dementia
Our Special Care Program, located on the second floor of the Manor
building, provides a controlled family-like environment for individuals
who are experiencing diminished physical and mental capabilities.
Professional staff encourage and enable the residents to focus on
the daily living abilities they retain, rather than on the abilities
that are diminished.
Increased Staffing
Our increased staffing for the Special Care Program allows more
time and attention for each resident so he/she may experience
favorite interests on a regular basis.
The Controlled Environment
Code alert provides 24 hour protective supervision necessary for
the residents' safety and well-being. Personal observation every
two hours and unlimited escort within Heritage of Edina are included
for each resident in the Special Care Program.
Assistance with Activities of Daily Living
The caring and friendly staff encourage, guide, and help the resident
with their personal care needs of bathing, grooming, dressing
and managing incontinence. Residents receive medication administration
daily and medication set-ups once a week.
The Family-Like Environment
We provide a familiar setting for activities that gives each resident
a feeling of accomplishment and purpose. The privacy of their
own apartment with their own familiar belongings is an important
reassurance of their home environment.
